Do you know the furniture gallery would be in the sky

These morph through a rainbow colour sequence, reflecting Sky’s corporate identity according to the brief of ‘experiential’ agency RPM. Each piece of  home furnishings like the one I'm sitting on has a steel framework that works inside of the piece and is attached to the side of the building with wood and steel separating it," he said. "So if some piece of the building falls in an earthquake, the (art) piece will still stay here."

“We had to be very aware of the O2 screen because that would have had a significant effect on what we were trying to achieve,” says David Atkinson of DALD. "I'm interested in working with absurdity in ways that are compelling and entertaining." Entertaining, to say the least, for the opening of urban art in what can only be described as the urban circus.
As well as the main access to Sky Backstage, the space is also open to members of the public as the world’s first 3D gallery, showcasing Sky’s breadth of 3D programming. The 3D TVs are housed in floating wall panels on two sides of the ground floor and the non-glazed perimeter walls of the floor above. RGB LED strips, each individually addressable by DMX, are stepped behind the panels.

A Grandfather clock appears to be falling out of the window of the abandoned tenement building. Upon a second look, the Grandfather clock is bent, twisted, and lucky for the pedestrians on the busy street below, not falling at all. Beds, clock, bureaus, floor lamps and other furniture hang on the outside of the building creating a surreal experience for the viewer. “Rather than trying to work against it we worked with it, although obviously it’s difficult because the screen content changes. However, it helped to keep our loading down.”
"I wanted to get art out of the gallery and out of the museum," said the creator, Brian Goggin. "Kind of Disneyesque or, uh, Dali," said one eyewitness.

"It's definitely rocking right here man, with the furniture and everything." Sitting on a couch that looks as if it's perched on the roof in mid-air, Goggin explains his brainchild. " The Sky Gallery on the observation deck at Katowice Airport was officially opened on Wednesday 26 November 2012. The official awards-presentation for the Sky Furniture competition was held concurrentThe aim of the 'Sky Furniture' competition was to find alternative solutions for the furniture at the Sky Gallery area at the airport. The gallery is to be a pleasant place in which travellers can relax.
